How to dig deeper when it comes to picking a high-quality milk powder for your child.

Have you ever stood along the supermarket aisle for ages, carefully scrutinising the ingredients listed on the different tins? Well, if choosing a formula milk of high quality is important to you, it’s time to dig a little deeper. That’s because how the formula milk was made and processed makes a difference to its quality.

Here are three ‘Quality Control’ questions you should ask before deciding on a tin of milk powder:

How is the milk kept fresh?

What you need to know is, milk that is freshly collected from cows has to be stirred every 2 minutes until the milk truck arrives. Its temperature must also be kept at no higher than 4°C at all times, so that it retains maximum freshness.

How was the milk turned into powder?

Did you know that too much heat can destroy the natural nutrients of milk? Lots of natural nutrients, including an essential amino acid called lysine that is found in milk protein. That’s why we keep the heat optimal during the process of turning our milk into powder, so that this natural nutrient is not lost.

How many times was the milk processed?

We believe that milk from cows should only be processed once, as natural nutrients can be lost through over-processing. A single manufacturing process preserves milk protein structure in its natural form.
